A coin has two faces: heads and tails. Both faces are equally relevant to whoever flips the coin. However, it can only give out one possibility. The mere toss of the coin can make or break anything subjected to it. One can compare the flip of a coin to what might happen next to the future of the world – smarter phones or smarter people?

Smartphones were crafted to support the millions of people around the globe as they go through everyday tasks which are most of the time business-related. It didn’t take long for smartphones to actually occupy the ‘must-have tray’ as clearly evident in today’s society. Today, smartphones have raised the bar and serviced not only business and office matters but also entertainment – video streaming and music – and health as well.

An individual can say that for the past nth number of years that have passed, humans have vastly grew in intelligence which is the only thing that separates us from the many creations living in Earth. But if you ask an incredibly observant and unbiased person, he might beg to differ in the previous statement. True enough, our mode of communication is immensely enhanced from the letter-sending to electronic mails, instant messaging, and now – smartphones. In line with this are mobile accessories that accompany our gadgets namely the USB charger that in my opinion is the most convenient accessory of all technological gadgets. Their existence doesn’t directly correspond to humans actually getting smarter. Rather, it has rendered them more dependent as ever to the genius that is technology.

This is not a speculation, nor is it a contradiction. It simply is the neutral truth. These tools were made to support, not do the entire job for us. But seeing the world today, haven’t we had enough convenience already? We know too much is never good, and yet you can find loads of tablet accessories in various stores sprawled for any good buyer as accompaniment to his dear gadgets which signifies that the downfall of humans has finally commenced and that the era of technology is far from ending.

It doesn’t necessarily have to end. It has helped us in many ways than one, and quite a lot will vouch for that, and that includes me. What is being implied here is that sooner or later, an undesirable outcome will emerge which will depend on one decision that is for us to make. We can continue to spice up the technological world and embed all the genius that we have into them or relinquish our hold on technology completely and start making our lives easier the old-fashioned way.

Heads for smarter phones, tails for smarter people. Shall we toss the coin and find out the outcome?
