You already have splurged big dough with just buying a pristine smartphone, and the idea of buying extra accessories just for your phone’s protection really stings. All the more if you should really buy it and you have no reason not to. But how are you supposed to lessen the “splurge fever” with your hand-held device, when all the TV commercials and ads persuade you to buy all those “seemingly” essential mobile accessories that are real gotta-have-accessories? But before buying into the idea that you should get all the “seemingly” essential mobile accessories that all the sellers advertize, there are a lot of things you need to consider for your phone’s longevity. Below are some quick guides so you can avoid splurging too much on things that really are unnecessary to your phone. But if you are someone who doesn’t consider money as barrier, then have had it. Although there aren’t any assurance that the more you splurge, the higher the quality, sometimes some items are just real good in aesthetics.

1: Take extra precautions on using your phone. But sometimes, no matter how much we become vigilant and cautious to bend over backwards just to keep our phone safe, the inevitable happens like sudden bump as a child hits the object where the phone is mounted, house or car keys that are always all set to scratch away your glossy screen, or your bag pressing all things inside it including your phone. You’ll never know, right? I bet running an extra mile would not hurt more than your phone shattering to pieces. You can buy cell phone cases that will be your phone’s protection against back scuffs, sudden bumps, and scratches. Not to mention it comes with various designs you can choose from depending on your liking.

2: Only trust the trusted sellers. Wait… what? A lot of sellers claim that their products are all in good shape and quality. And with the advertising of mobile stores, it makes no difference. They could even claim their stores are trusted by many even when not. Yes, it is trusted—trusted to break in no time. On choosing replacement parts for your phone, better if you do a little research not just on the items, but also on the seller. Ask some of your friends which store should be trusted. Or better yet, you could always ask assistance of your phone’s manufacturer. Then, you will be guided on what to do. No matter what it takes, don’t ever—I repeat—ever choose cheaper replica items. They will only be good for just a matter of days, and they can even damage your gadget severely.

3: Is your charger safe? Not too long ago, news about a malicious charger called Mactans was spread. It could hack the latest OS version of iPhone in just a matter of minutes in no sweat. It’s alarming since iPhone were known to be more secure than other mobile offerings. And it’s alarming all the more since Mactans can be made even if it’s not well-funded. Everything in the package, along with your phone, is safe to use. That being said, you don’t have to worry. But if someone tries to sell USB charger with a ridiculously cheaper price than it should be, then start to be suspicious.

Above all the clauses, stop splurging on unnecessary accessories that you won’t really need. Learn to be contented with what you have as long as your phone does what it does. Make sure that it’s completely protected so you could enjoy its longevity.
